Shiner volleyball:Shiner JV Gold wins two at Flatonia tourney

The Shiner junior varsity gold team went 2-2 in the Flatonia Tournament last weekend, finishing second in the consolation bracket.

Smithville 2, Shiner 0
The Lady Comanches fell to Smithville to open the tournament Friday, 25-12, 25-17.
Audrey Donihoo had one ace, one dig; Jo Caka had had one ace, one dig; Jenna Pohler finished with one kill; Olivia Akin had one ace; Reagan Fluitt tallied one ace, one dig.
Bianca Rainosek had two digs; Lexie Boner had two kills, one ace and Sadie Carter had two digs, one kill.

Shiner 2, Luling 0
Shiner beat Luling 25-12, 25-14 on Friday.
Donihoo had six assists, three digs, two aces.
Caka had four digs, one kill; Kara Kupka had one dig; Evy Johnson provided four kills, one dig.
 Akin had four digs, one kill; Fluitt had four aces, three assists.
Rainosek had one ace, one kill; Jennifer Arellano had three kills, one ace, one dig.
 Boner had four aces, four kill; Cater had four digs, one ace.

Shiner 2, Flatonia 0
The Lady Comanches beat the hosts in two sets to start  consolation bracket play on Saturday. Donihoo chipped in seven assists, three aces, three digs, two kills; Caka had six digs, one ace; Johnson had three digs, two kills, one ace, one block; Akin had one dig
 Fluitt recorded three assists, two aces, two digs; Rainosek had one kill, one dig; Arellano had five kills, one ace.
Boner had four kills, three digs, one block and Carter finished with nine digs, three aces.

Schulenburg 2, Shiner 0
The Lady Comanches lost to Schulenburg in the consolation championship 25-21, 25-14 Saturday.
Donihoo had three kills, two assists, one dig; Caka had four digs, one kill; Johnson had two kills.
Akin added two aces, one kill, one dig; Fluitt had one ace, one kill; Arellano had four digs, two kills.
 Boner contributed one ace; Carter finished with nine digs.
