SJS Tigers 69, St. Michael Swords 34

The St. Joseph School (SJS) Tigers rolled to their highest point production of the season in a big win against the St. Michael Swords in Weimar at Wildcat Stadium.

The SJS Tigers amassed 498 yards of total offense that included 354 yards rushing and 144 through the air.

Trent Ferry was the leading rusher with 279 yards on 11 carries and 32 points. Ferry had touchdown runs of 21, 24, 56, 63, and 74 yards and added 6 yards on conversion points.

Caden Werland pitched in to carry the ball six times for 75 yards including touchdown runs of 23 and 40 yards.

Ferry also completed six of seven passes for 116 yards and three touchdowns.

Shooter Laqua caught two touchdown passes from Ferry for a total of 48 yards and Dominic Novak caught a touchdown pass for 40 yards.

Center Nick Adamek caught a pass for 12 yards from Ferry on a double pass that started with Novak connecting with Ferry— a six-man football novelty play.

Novak completed 7 of 11 passes for 28 yards. Ty Smith caught four passes for extra point conversions in addition to a 13-yard reception and Laqua caught a conversion point pass from Novak.

On defense, Werland seemed to be everywhere leading the team with six tackles followed closely by Jaxson Eggemeyer with five tackles and Adamek recovered a fumble.

The SJS Tiger defense also forced a safety.

For the swords, Nick Williams rushed for 107 yards on 12 carries, two touchdowns, and two extra points.

Justin Ohnheiser rushed for 63 yards on four carries and one touchdown.

Cullen Marek rushed for 17 yards on 7 carries, a touchdown, and an extra point.

Kole Fogelman rushed for 13 yards on four carries and added an extra point.

Molan Morgan caught a pass for a 23-yard touchdown.

The SJS Tigers record stands at four wins and one loss.

The SJS Tigers play the Trinity Episcopal Patriots at 5:30 p.m. tonight, Oct. 18, in Victoria and finish the season in Bulldog stadium against St. AnthonyColumbus at 6 p.m. on Oct. 25.
