St. Paul 15, Galveston O’Connell 0:Lady Cardinals “homer” in on Galveston O’Connell

    An unusual amount of home runs was a key factor in St. Paul softball team’s 15-0 win over Galveston O’Connell in three innings May 10 at Shiner Starplex.
    Stefany Pokluda and Ashlyn Pesek each had two homers while Sydney Green had one home run.
    Green threw a no-hit shutout with two walks and six strikeouts.
    The Lady Cardinals scored three runs in the first frame; they scored five in the second with back-to-back-to-back home runs. Pesek had an inside-the-park to right field; Green hit a ball over center field wall and Polkuda got an in-the-park homer on a shot to left field.
    Pesek opened the bottom of third with a leadoff, solo homer over right field and later in the inning Pokluda had an inside-the-park home run as St. Paul scored seven to end the game.
