St. Paul baseball: Cardinal nine lost to Sacred Heart, beat Runge in rout

The St. Paul baseball team lost at Sacred Heart and crushed Runge at home in two games last week.

St. Paul scored two runs in the top of the seventh to avoid a shutout but fell 7-2 in the district opener at Sacred Heart March 10.
Sacred Heart scored one run in the second after a scoreless first inning. They outscored St. Paul 4-0 in the third and 2-0 in the fifth.
At the plate, Jace Matias hit 2-for-3 with a double and CJ Fogle doubled and got two RBI.
Fogle pitched four innings with three hits, five runs, one batter, four walks and nine strikeouts. 
Matias worked 2/3 innnings with two runs, five walks; Levi Leonard closed out with 1 1/3 innings, one hit and one strikeout.
Fogle made three putouts in the field.

Fogle hit 3-for-3, triple, double, two runs and three RBI while Ian Kennedy hit 3-for-3, two runs, one RBI.
Levi Lenoard was 2-for-3, double, two runs and three RBI in St. Paul’s 15-0 win over Runge Friday at home.
Evan Rother pitched three innings with one batter hit, one walk and five strikeouts.
St. Paul led 4-0 after one inning, scored one run in the second inning and scored 10 runs in the third inning.
