St. Paul boys basketball: Cards go 1-1 against Faith Academy, Bracken Christian
Jace Matias scored two dozen points as St. Paul outlasted Victoria Faith Academy 88-80 Jan. 20 at home.
St. Paul led 20-13 after one quarter and were ahead 37-35 at halftime after the Cougars went on a 22-17 run in the second box.
St. Paul went on a 27-17 run in the third frame and Faith Academy outscored them 28-24 in the final quarter.
Also scoring in double digits for the Cardinals were Jack Leonard (14), Jack Ehrig (12), Carter Chilek (12) and Tyler Pendley (12).

A 22-9 run by the Bracken Warriors was enough to see them past the Cardinals 62-61 Thursday at St. Paul.
St. Paul did not go down without a fight as they went on a 16-10 run in the second frame to cut Bracken’s advantage to 32-25 at halftime.
The Warriors went up 50-40 after the third quarter and St. Paul made a last-ditch effort with 21 of 33 points scored in the fourth quarter.
Jack Ehrig sank 21 points and hit two triples to lead the Cardinals while Matias bagged 15 points and Chilek booked another 12 points.
