St. Paul clinches District Title

    Sacred Heart head coach Wanda Orsak hoped home court would benefit the Indianettes in their clash with St. Paul here Tuesday, Oct. 15.

    But St. Paul had other plans in defeating the Indianettes 3-1 (25-14, 25-13, 22-25, 25-11) to clinch the TAPPS District 4 Division IV.

    “St. Paul is a very good team and we just did not play every point,” Orsak said. “We mentally take ourselves out of games.”

    Skylar Mozisek was the main source of points for SP with 18 kills, Addy Matias recorded 8 and Samantha Moore 7.

    Annika Brooks led the Indianettes (13-14, 5-2) with 15 kills.

    SP had 44 kills to Indianettes’ 25 and the Lady Cardinals had 8 serving errors and SH 6.

    First set:

    The Lady Cardinals led 17-9 after the first rotation prior to scoring four unanswered points on an attack error, a kill by Emery Kennedy, an ace by Dallyn Pesek and a double hit en route to a 25-14 win.

    Second set:

    The second set got out of hand early for the Indianettes. The Lady Cardinals had an 11-3 run led by Mozisek’s 3 kills and went on to win, 25-13.

    Third set:

    Brooks put down 5 kills to lead the 25-22 victory. SP led 14-10 before SH out-scored the Lady Cardinals 14-4 to gain a 24-17 advantage prior to winning, 25-22.

    Fourth set:

    The set was tied at 7-all before the roof caved in on the Indianettes. The Lady Cardinals won 25-11 with Mozisek once again the culprit with 5 kills.

    Kenzie Chance: 3 assists, 3 digs.

    Ella Demel: 2 aces, 8 digs.

    The Indianettes took a 3-0 road victory over Victoria Faith Academy on the road Tuesday, Oct. 15.
