St. Paul football: DCTF picks Cardinals to finish fourth in district

The St. Paul football team started last year 4-2 but finished 5-6 due to a bizarre rash of injuries late in the season.
They hope to not go through a similar predicament this season
The Cardinals return 23 lettermen and seven starters on each side of the ball. In addition, they are under the direction of new head coach Barry Wolf.
Popular football magazine Dave Campbell’s Texas Football has slated St. Paul to finish in fourth place in TAPPS Division IV-District 2. Sacred Heart is the favorite to win the district ,with Bryan Brazos Christian and Temple Central Texas Christian predicted to finish in playoff spots. The district also has Conroe Covenant Christian and Tomball Rosehill Christian.
The offensive line will be led by All-State picks Gage Anders and Jackson Seibert, to clear holes for running backs Sam Perez (538 rushing yards, three touchdowns), Gus Collins and Blaine Humes. 
Collins will also help anchor the defense.
Other players to watch are offensive-defensive line Brody Biehunko, wide receiver-defensive back Zeke Rodriguez, wide receiver-defensive back Jack Ehrig, tight end-defensive lineman Gabe Darilek, quarterback-defensive back Andrew Nunez, running back Carter Chilek, and offensive-defensive linemen Evan Rother and Zeke Basquez.
