St. Paul girls basketball: Lady Cardinals win three games at Kenedy Tournament
The St. Paul girls basketball team went 3-1 in the Kenedy Tournament last week prior to the holiday break.
Harvest Christian Academy 84, St. Paul 35
Edinburgh Harvest Christian Academy did not miss too many three-point baskets as they hit 16 in a 84-35 win over the Lady Cardinals on Friday afternoon.
HCA started hot with a 31-11 run in the first eight points and outscored St. Paul 10-9 in the second quarter for a 41-20 halftime lead.
The Lady Eagles had another 30-point quarter as they outscored St. Paul 30-8 in the third period and closed out with 13 of 20 points in the fourth quarter.
Kristin Cerny hit a triple and netted 13 points for St. Paul while Ashlin DeSarro tipped in 11 as well.
Jaime Gonzalez of HCA led all scorers with 33 points and nine triples.

Skylar Mozisek scored 16 points, McKinley Jacobs tallied 14 points and Kristin Cerny deposited 10 points with all three players hitting one triple as St. Paul beat hosts Leopards 61-25 later on Friday.
St. Paul grabbed a 12-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and outscored Kenedy 16-11 in the second box. St. Paul pulled away with a 21-4 run in the third quarter and outscored Kenedy 12-2 in the final eight minutes.
Audri Briones led the Leopards with nine points.

The Lady Cardinals outscored Stockdale 23-7 in the second half for a 45-18 win in their first game on Saturday.
St. Paul led 12-9 after one frame and outscored the Lady Brahmas 10-2 in the second period. Stockdale got within 28-18 in the third quarter; St. Paul scored 17 and allowed Stockdale no points in the fourth period.
Cerny sank 11 points with three triples and Skylar Mozisek bagged 11 points and had 11 rebounds.
Kendra Hummel led Stockdale with seven points.

St. Paul outscored the Lady Badgers 12-6 in the first eight minutes and led 27-13 at the break.
Karnes City closed the gap to 32-27 in the third quarter. St. Paul finished the task with a 13-6 run in the final period.
