St. Paul girls basketball: Lady Cards go 2-1 to open season

St. Paul girls basketball went 2-1 in their first three games of the 2024-25 season.
St. Paul 74, NBC 30
With 23 points from Kristen Cerny, the Lady Cardinals basketball team won their first game  74-30 against New Braunfels Christian Nov. 22 at home.
Riley Mozisek scored 19 points and Sloane Kocian hit 16 points with one triple.
St. Paul opened the game with a 28-11 run in the first quarter and outscored NBC 21-4 in the second frame.
The Lady Cardinals scored 16 of 28 points in the third box and held a 9-3 scoring advantage in the fourth frame.
For NBC, Ellie Schwandt hit two tres and sank 16 points.

A 20-10 run was key in the Lady Cardinals 49-41 win at Schulenburg on Nov. 25. 
The Lady Shorthorns led 9-8 after one quarter and St. Paul led 28-19 at halftime.
Schulenburg went on a 14-12 third-quarter run to get within 40-33.
St. Paul scored nine of 17 points in the final quarter.
Skylar Mozisek made two tres and scored 17 to lead St. Paul while Riley Mozisek netted 12 points.

Danbury outscored St. Paul 14-4 in the first eight minutes and went on to win 57-44 Nov. 26 in Shiner.
The teams split 28 points in the second frame and Danbury went on a 17-10 third-quarter run for a 45-28 lead.
St. Paul scored 16 of 28 points in the fourth quarter to slightly close the gap.
Skylar Mozisek led St. Paul in scoring with 12 points and one three-point bucket.
Kocian recorded 11 points. 
Caylee Allison paced Danbury with 16 points.
