St, Paul softball: Indianettes edge St. Paul in 27-run barn burner

    St. Paul and Sacred Heart combined for 26 hits and 27 runs in a 14-13 barnburner last Thursday in Hallettsville. 
    Sacred Heart led 2-0 after two frames and St. Paul tied things with two runs in the second inning.
    The Indianettes then took an 8-2 lead after three innings and St. Paul outscored Sacred Heart 6-4 in fifth frame to get within 10-8.
    Sacred Heart went up 14-8 in the sixth inning and St. Paul’s rally came up a little short but scored five runs in the top of the seventh. 
    Nine Lady Cardinal batters got a hit with five of them getting two hits, led by Jessica Fikac who went 2-for-5 with one run, triple, double and two RBI. Sloane Kocian was 2-for-5, two doubles, one run, two RBI. 
    Presley Tuch went 2-for-5 with two runs, double and RBI. Brooke Cerny hit 2-for-5 with two runs, RBI and a double. Tori Walker also got a double.
    Tatum Walker pitched 4 1/3 innings with 12 runs on eight hits, four walk and four strikeouts. Tuch worked 1 2/3 innings with four hits, two runs.
    Mariah Jackson had seven putouts in the field.
