St. Paul track and field: Lady Cardinals win 2A track and field state championship

    The Lady Cardinals won the 2A state track title with 152 points, surpassing second-place Waco Valor Prep who had 91 points, this past weekend in Waco.
    Girls
    The Lady Cardinals won 13 total medals. Presley Rother got first in the 100-meter dash.
    Ashlin DeSarro got second in 100 hurdles.
    Emery Kennedy won the shot put and placed third in discus.  Kristin Cerny won the long jump and got second in the triple jump.
    Annabelle Collins was third in the long jump and triple jump.
    Jenna Stock was third in shot put.
    Emma Marshall was runner up in pole vault.
    The 400-relay and 800 teams of Hayden Rother, Cerny, Collins and Presley Rother won first place. 
    The mile-relay team of Collins, Reese Chilek, DeSarro and Cerny got third place.

    Long Jump — 1st, Cerny, 16-8 1/4; 3rd, Collins, 16-3 1/4.
    Pole Vault — 2nd, Emma Marshall, 9-6; 6th, Emori Rodriguez, 7-6.
    Shot Put — 1st, Kennedy, 36-1 1/4; 3rd, Jenna Stock, 32-11 1/4; 4th, Karis Barta, 32-0.
    Triple Jump — 2nd, Cerny, 36-4 1/2; 3rd, Collins, 36-2 3/4.

    The Cardinals recorded 23 points for No. 12.
