    Texas State Senator Lois W. Kolkhorst  came to Shiner at the end of April to present several Shiner and St. Paul sports team with proclamations recognizing their respective state championships. She recognized the 2021 2A UIL state football championships Shiner Comanches, the 2022 TAPPS 2A girls  basketball state champions Lady Cardinals and 2021 TAPPS 2A football state champions Cardinals. Note: due to several of its members competeting at the TAPPS state golf tournament, Senator Kolkhorst did not get a photo with the 2021 TAPPS 2A girls cross country state team Lady Cardinals.
