Tribe dealt back to back losses
The Sacred Heart Indians were handed back-toback TAPPS District 5 Division IV losses last week, the latest a 61-59 verdict Friday at Victoria Faith Academy.
The Indians defeated the Cougars 59-48 here Jan. 17.
Faith Academy won despite a 26-point, 14-rebound performance by Andrew Steffek.
The Warriors jumped all over the Indians for a 22-7 lead at the end of the first quarter and that was the key to the game.
But the Indians made up some ground by outscoring the Cougars 20-9 in the second period with Steffek scoring 8 points and Hudson Kutac 6 to dwindle the FA lead was 31-27 at the half.
The Cougars took a 46- 41 advantage into the final eight minutes.
The Indians scored 18 points to the Cougars 15 in the fourth quarter before falling short.
Kutac was also in double figures with 12 points.

Red-hot Bulverde Christian hung a 50-29 loss on the Indians here Tuesday, Jan. 28.
The Warriors shot 46.8% from the field and had three players in double figures.
The Indians led 13-9 at the end of the first quarter thanks in part to 6 points by Hudson Kutac.
The Warriors took a 25- 21 halftime advantage before things started going south for the Indians.
Bracken Christian canned 8 of 13 shots and the Indians committed 5 turnovers helping the Warriors to a 41-25 lead at the end of the third period.
Andrew Steffek was the only Indian in double digits with 10 points. Ethan Cruz scored a game-high 17 points for the Warriors.
