YHS Bulldogs predicted to challenge for a district title

The Yoakum High School Bulldog Football Team is primed for another solid year according to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football (DCTF).

The Bulldogs are predicted to place third in district behind Columbus and Hitchcock and has the potential to challenge for the district crown, DCTF stated. The Bulldogs returns 25 lettermen, seven offensive starters, and nine defensive starters from their regional-finalist team that finished 8-5 overall and 2-2 in district.

The publication states to keep an eye on WR X’Zavier Barnett, OL Oliver Ortiz, OL Jayden Jones, WR-DB Jace Morales, DB Cayson Gamez, LB Colby Jendrzey, WR Kennon Dilworth, DL Luis Massey, and DB Elyjai Barnett.

DCTF notes Yoakum will have good speed in X’Zavier Barnett, Morales Dilworth, and Gamez. The offensive line will be led by All-State player Ortiz, and Jones. The defense will be better and the challenge will be to find a quarterback to lead the offense.
