Youth sports: Otto part of Team USA 15U that has won two tournaments
With softball no longer an Olympic sport, Team USA was founded. This is the first year for 15U. Tryouts for the team were by invitation only, with referrals. Addison Otto was referred by Kat Osterman, former University ofTexas -Austin softball pitcher, All American and Olympian. Addison was one of 21 softball players from the entire USA, chosen for the team and one of 16 to make the roster, as well as start, for Team USA Softball 15.
During April 1-8, Team USA 15 traveled to Peru, to compete in the Pan American Championship. USA took the Gold, sweeping all of their opponents- Peru, Columbia, WBSC, Brasil, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela. During the tournament, Addison played right field, third base and pitcher.
On June 3-4, Team USA 15 competed in the Utsugi Cup, in Takasaki City, Japan. Teams included host Japan, China, Italy, Mexico, Tanzania and the USA. USA again swept their opponents, Italy, China and Japan to bring home the Gold.
With these wins, Team USA Softball 15, has clinched a spot for the World Cup later this year.

Addison is the daughter of Christie and Wayne Otto, and granddaughter of Howard and Mary Burns of Smithville. She is granddaughter of Barbara Otto and niece of John and Cheryl Otto Kasper of Shiner.
