Final two games of Appelt Tourney cancelled because of lightning

The Jimmy Appelt Tournament was cut short by lightning Saturday while the Brahmas were playing Giddings.The Brahmas defeated Giddings 9-3.Games cancelled were Shiner vs. Smithville and Hallettsville vs. Smithville.Ty Sklar made his first varsity game on the mound in the victory over Giddings.

Brahmas win three in Karnes City

KARNES CITY – The Hallettsville Brahmas won three games and lost one in the in Inaugural Karnes City Classic.The only loss was a 6-3 decision to Kenedy.HB 5, Johnson City 2The Brahmas defeated Johnson City Friday.The Brahmas had seven hits with Hudson Chenard and Weston Loudon both collecting two.

Brahmas win Weimar Tournament

The Hallettsville Brahmas won first place in the Weimar Tournament Monday, March 23 with a team total of 339.Canyon Zavesky shot an 81 and was second tournament medalist.Eli Ferguson and Liam Ferguson both shot an 83, Colt Zavesky a 92 and Cameron Cinadr a 1-3.

Brahmas 5, Wallis Brazos 0

Hudson Chenard and Weston Loudon combined for a no-hitter in the Brahmas’ seasonopening win over Wallis Brazos 5-0 in the season opener here Monday, Feb. 17.Chenard threw two innings and struck out nine and Loudon three innings and fanned six.Loudon allowed a base on balls.

Brahmas win own tourney

The Brahmas won their own JV Tournament with a 10-0 run rule victory over Geronimo Navarro Saturday evening.Ty Sklar pitched all five innings and gave up three hits, walked four and struck out three. He was helped by two double plays.

Brahmas rule Smithville

SMITHVILLE – The Brahmas won the championship of the Smithville Tiger Classic with an 8-0 verdict over the host Tigers Saturday night.The Brahmas (5-0) produced nine hits in the contest to back the pitching of Hudson Chenard.

Brahmas 3rd in first tourney

VICTORIA – The Hallettsville Brahmas finished third in their first golf tournament of the season at Riverside Park Golf Course Wednesday, February 11.The Brahmas shot a team total of 354. Calhoun won first with a 347 and Edna was second, recording a 351.

Brahmas Defeat Alumni

The Brahmas defeated the Alumni 5-2 in a rain shortened game Saturday afternoon.Hudson Chenard started on the mound for the Brahmas and struck out all six batters he faced.Weston Loudon threw two innings and retired all six batters he faced with two strikeouts.

Brahma JV Tournament starts Thursday

The Hallettsville Jr. Varsity Tournament starts Thursday and runs through Saturday.Thursday Feb. 19 - Yoakum vs. Goliad, 10 a.m. Loser plays at 3 p.m. Friday and the winner at 5:30 p.m. Industrial vs. Navarro, noon. Brahmas victors over Palacios, 54-49

The Brahmas led after every quarter in a 54-49 victory over Palacios in a District 25-AAA game here Tuesday, Feb. 10.The Brahmas had a 7-2 run in the first period with Gavyn Chapa hitting two threes and two free throws for a 17-10 lead.
