The results are in for the Yoakum City Council elections. For Yoakum City Council, there were two open spots for Place 2 and Place 4. Winning the spot for Place 2 is Daniel Driskell. He received 208 votes while his opponent, Jay Cassell, received 196 votes.

Several new officials were sworn in during a morning ceremony Sunday, Jan. 1 at the Lavaca County Courthouse in Hallettsville. Wayne Faircloth accepts his oaths as Lavaca County Precinct 2 County Commissioner.
