Keith Mudd sworn in as Lavaca County Judge

  • Both former Lavaca County Judges, Keith Mudd (just after accepting his Sunday, Jan. 1) and Ronnie Leck (who retired in 2021 as Shiner Police Chief, bringing a more 50-year-long career in public service to an end. As county judge, Leck led the historic remodeling efforts at the courthouse, and is one of the key reasons that building is such a showpiece today.

    Several new officials were sworn in during a morning ceremony Sunday, Jan. 1 at the Lavaca County Courthouse in Hallettsville.

    Yackel was the only new JP brought on this year. All the rest were all serving in their respective roles at the of 2022.
