Court acknowledges primary election results

After hearing a report from Lavaca County interim election administrator Tenia Hudson at its Monday morning meeting, the Commissioners’ Court acknowledged the results of the primary election held on March 5.

Harmon, Greenwell to have run-off

Following the tabulation of votes in last Tuesday’s primary election, the Lavaca County election administrator’s and the Texas State Secretary’s office released the unofficial count of votes. In this year’s election, out of the 14,081 registered Lavaca County voters, 39.

Primary general election Tuesday, March 5

Early voting in the Democrat and Republican party primaries ended Friday, March 1 and the general election will take place this Tuesday, March 5. All 11 voting locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Early primary voting has started

Early voting by personal appearance started Tuesday, Feb. 20 in the Democrat and Republican party primaries.According to interim election administrator Tenia Hudson all early voting is held at Lavaca County Courthouse Annex located at 412 N. Texana St. in Hallettsville.Voting hours are from 8 a.m.

Local filings period ended on Feb. 16

The deadline for candidates filing to run for positions on the Hallettsville ISD Board of Trustees, the Hallettsville City Council and the Lavaca Hospital District Board of Directors ended this past Friday, Feb. 16 with each entity reporting candidates who have filed.
