Brahmas sweep KC; Marion on deck

Pitching has been the Hallettsville Brahmas’ calling card all season.Coach Chad Gohlke got outstanding pitching from three hurlers to sweep Karnes City 2-1 and 11-0.The Brahmas, 25-2, will meet Marion in a bestof-three series starting Thursday with the first game here at 7 p.m.

Gonzalez named Brahma soccer coach

The Hallettsville ISD Board of Trustees met in a special-called meeting Monday evening and approved the hiring of Jesus “Jessie” Gonzalez as the new Brahma soccer coach.Gonzalez is from San Antonio and has been coaching for a few years and enjoyed some playoff successes.

Brahmas go through District unscathed

Going through District 25-AAA undefeated is quite an accomplishment. Hallettsville (23-2,12-0) swept Industrial last week 9-2 and 7-1.In the 9-2 victory here Tuesday, April 22, starting and winning pitcher Konnor Kopecky tossed four shut-out innings and gave up two hits, walked two and fanned three.

Brahmas compete in Regional Golf

VICTORIA - The Hallettsville Brahmas competed in the Class 3A Region IV Golf Tournament Wednesday and Thursday at the Victoria Country Club.The Brahmas shot a 743 - 383 Wednesday and 360 Thursday.

Gold rush

SEGUIN – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas and Brahmas combined for four gold medals at the Class 3A Region IV Track and Field Meet at Seguin High School Thursday and Friday at Seguin High School.The top two finishers will advance to the state meet May 1 in Austin.

Brahmas clinch District

The Hallettsville Brahmas clinched the District 25-AAA championship with two victories over Palacios last week.The Brahmas are 21-3 overall and 12-0 in district with two games remaining.Good teams find a way to win and the Brahmas did that in the 3-2 victory over Palacios here Tuesday, April 15.

LB, Brahmas third in District track and field meet

ALTAIR – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas had their best finish in ages at the District 15-AAA Track and Field Meet Wednesday and Thursday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.The Lady Brahmas and Br finished third in the meet.The LB had two double winners in Elizabeth Felcman and Danna Jansky.

Brahmas double dip Tigers

The Hallettsville Brahmas swept another District 25-AAA opponent in Tidehaven last week.The Brahmas had just four hits with two of them counting the most in a 4-1 victory over the Tigers here Tuesday, April 1.The Brahmas (17-3, 8-0) scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning.

Brahmas sweep Rice

The Hallettsville Brahmas swept Rice Consolidated in two District 25-AAA games last week.The Brahmas are 15-3 overall and 6-0 in district. They hold a twogame lead over Tidehaven, Industrial and Columbus going into play this week.

Brahmas maul Edna to move to 4-0 in District

The Hallettsville Brahmas have reeked havoc in the first four District 25-AAA games.The Brahmas (13-3) defeated the Cowboys 16-1 and 12-0 last week and had a team batting average of .500.Brahmas 16, Edna 1In the game played in Edna Tuesday, March 18 Jorian Wilson and Weston Laudon both homered.
