Shiner Councilman David Schroeder was clearly less than pleased still Monday evening as the folks from Motorola and Lavaca County Judge Mark Myers were back in council chambers looking to seal the deal on the county’s roughly $2 million communications enhancement project.

VVA Chapter 870 meets Aug. 17

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 870 meets on the third Wednesday of each month. The next meeting will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at the Ammannsville KJT Hall in Ammannsville. Food and refreshments will be provided at the meeting.

Connected Nation released broadband survey findings

Representatives from the nonprofit Connected Nation met with several local and regional officials in Cuero last week for the much-anticipated release of the group’s broadband internet survey findings, having completed their surveys earlier this year in both Lavaca and DeWitt counties.
