Berckenhoff’s grand champ Key Lime Pie tops 119 entries to help raise $35,000 for local scholarships

Melissa Berckenhoff won grand champion pie Sunday, July 31, out of 119 pies entered in the 2022 Jamboree Pie Contest with her Key Lime Pie. “Congrats to all this year’s winners and bakers for helping us raise a record-breaking $35,000 for local scholarships,” Chamber president Anna Bartos said.

Moulton to start school with one less bus route

Citing difficulty finding drivers and a history of far too many discipline problems, Moulton schools will no longer run an in-town bus route, starting the 2022-23 school year, trustees decided last month.

Moulton ISD employs uniformed police officer

Moulton schools will soon have a new face around their campuses starting with the new school year, after trustees last month approved hiring an off-duty, uniformed Moulton police officer for the 2022-23 school year.

Legion, SAL to hold annual membership drive Sunday

American Legion Post No. 392, its Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion (SAL) Squadron 392 will hold their annual membership drive luncheon and installation of officers at noon Sunday, Aug. 14, at the Moulton American Legion Hall.

Drought forces water restrictions in Moulton

The drought hasn’t been kind to Moulton’s water resources this year. The city spent several weeks and several thousands of dollars rehabbing the city’s newest well, Well No. 4, earlier this year, finally bringing it back online in early June.

Meet the Teacher Night set Aug. 16

Meet the Teacher Night for Moulton ISD is planned for 4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16.  Students are encouraged to bring their supplies for the year.  Those may be found on the school’s website at www.moultonisd.net.

Moulton PTO asks for public’s help with donation drives
