Shiner, St. Paul cross country: Cerny, Mozisek place top 10 for Lady Cardinals

Both Shiner cross-country programs were in action in Gonzales on Saturday.St. PaulVarsity GirlsThe Lady Cardinals came in sixth with 136 points.Kristin Cerny led St. Paul with sixth place in  13 minutes, 35.85 seconds and behind her was Skylar Mozisek in 13:39.13. Frances Filip was No. 38 in 15:32.

St. Paul volleyball: Lady Cards bounce back after set 3 loss to beat SMHC 3-1

After two sets against San Marcos Hill Country, the Lady Cardinals had two wins.However, St. Paul dropped intensity or focus, losing the third set by 16 points before rebounding to take the fourth game to win 25-17, 25-17, 9-25, 25-22. Sept. 17 at home.

St. Paul volleyball: St. Paul overcomes nervous start to sweep SA Antonement

It was not the best start for St. Paul in their district opener against San Antonio Antonement on Thursday.The Lady Cardinals were not playing relaxed but did step up their game to defeat the Lady Crusaders in a 25-14, 25-19, 25-22 sweep.“I felt like we played a little timid in the beginning.

St. Paul football: SP goes to 2-2 with win vs Louise

The St. Paul football team scored 13 points in each of the second and third quarters to rally to beat Louise 26-12 Friday in Louise. The win improved the Cardinals to 2-2 on the season and they will return to the Houston area as they take on Katy St. John XIII.

St. Paul graduate Cameron Pesek played a good role in leading the The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 19-25, 25-21) over Howard Payne on Sept. 10 in Belton.

St. Paul volleyball: Lady Cardinals push through in 3-0 win against Smithville

Two days previous, in their match at Shiner, the St. Paul volleyball team had some trouble finishing sets where they had leads.Thursday evening at home to Smithville, St. Paul found ways to push through the sets as they beat the Lady Tigers 26-24, 25-21, 25-20.

Shiner, St. Paul volleyball:Shiner wins cross-town VB match in four sets

The Lady Comanches team cohesion is coming along well which is extremely pleasing to head coach Desiree Nitsch.“The team chemistry and confidence is finally coming along and that we are starting to gel as a team,” she said.
