St. Paul girls basketball: Lady Cards advance to regionals

Having the right mindset is important when you are in the postseason.St. Paul had the right perspective as they opened the playoffs with a 55-15 win over Beaumont Legacy Prep in a TAPPS 2A area-round game Feb. 18 at home.

The St. Paul girls basketball team nabbed the district title by winning the return to Sacred Heart Feb. 4 and defeated Victoria Faith  Academy on Friday.St. Paul 68, Victoria Faith Academy 30The St. Paul Lady Cardinals had  two players score 20 or more in the final regular-season game.

St. Paul boys basketball: Cards pick up two wins, qualify for playoffs

In the fourth quarter, St. Paul had a 12-point lead against Victoria Faith Academy and looked set for victory.The visiting Cougars had other ideas and went on a 9-4 run during the final 15 points of the game but St. Paul hung on for a 60-53 in the regular-season finale Friday at home.

Shiner girls basketball: Shiner JV girls edge SP 24-21

The Shiner Lady Comanches junior varsity basketball team withstood an 8-6 St. Paul second-half run to hang on to a 24-21 win on Friday.Shiner led 12-9 at the end of the first quarter and scored six of 10 points in the second period for an 18-13 halftime lead.St.
