Shiner girls basketball: Shiner girls handle BHS aggressive play in win

The Shiner girls basketball team were expecting Bloomington to come out and play aggressive. And the Lady Wildcats met that expectation but Shiner was ready and handed Bloomington a 71-37 rout to improve to 2-0 in district.

Shiner girls basketball: Lady Comanches earn Bronze at Goliad Tournament

The Shiner Lady Comanches basketball team went 4-1 in the Goliad Tournament to place third overall.  Morgan Lenehan and Callie Sevcik were chosen for the All-Tournament team.

CARMINE —  The Shiner Comanches won two and lost two at the Round Top-Carmine Tournament last Friday and Saturday. Boling 63, Shiner 49 The Comanches tournament opener on Thursday morning (which also doubled as the season opener after the away game Nov.

Shiner girls basketball: Lady Comanches win second at KC tourney

The Lady Comanches won three and lost one at the Karnes City Tournament last week to place runner up. LV 57, Shiner 48 Morgan Lenehan scored 13 points and Rylee Vancura had 11 points as Shiner faced La Vernia in the Lady Comanches’ first tournament game, falling 57-48.

Shiner, St. Paul girls basketball: Lady Comanches bring energy in win over St. Paul

The Shiner Lady Comanches brought plenty of passion to a game against their cross-town cousins, St. Paul. A total of five Lady Comanches scored in double digits, led by 16 points from Addy Siegel, in a 67-23 win for Shiner. Callie Sevcik had a double double with 12 assists and 10 points.

Shiner volleyball: Lady Comanches volleyball all-district

The Lady Comanches had several players win All-District awards, highlighted by two special award winners. Senior Rylee Vancura was selected as one of the Offensive Players of the Year and junior Callie Sevcik was named one of the Defensive Players of the Year.

Shiner girls basketball: Shiner girls win at 3A Hallettsville

Rylee Vancura deposited 11 points to get Shiner past Hallettsville 41-34 on Nov. 20, the last game before the Thanksgiving break. Shiner took an 11-4 advantage in the first quarter and the Lady Brahmas went on an 8-7 run to trim the Lady Comanches’ lead to 18-12 at halftime.

The Shiner Lady Comanches junior varsity basketball team went 1-2 at the Schulenburg Tournament last week. La Grange 22, Shiner 8 Shiner opened the tournament with a 22-8 loss to La Grange. Lexi Boner led the Lady Comanches with six points and Evy Johnson bagged two points.

Shiner girls basketball: Lady Comanches’ adjustments aids in win over La Grange

The Lady Comanches basketball was down 30-21 at halftime against 4A La Grange and decided to make some adjustments. They switched up the defense and focused on rebounding, and pulled in results immediately as they outscored the Lady Leopards14-3 in the third quarter and went to win the game 50-47.
