Shiner baseball: Shiner blanks Indians 6-0

Drew Wenske pitched a no-hit shutout perfect game with 12 strikeouts in Shiner’s rescheduled game against Ganado on Wednesday, winning 6-0. The game was set to be played March 21 in Shiner but moved to March 22 due to field conditions caused by weather and then switched sites to Ganado.

Shiner girls golf: PRs set as Lady Comanches win SP Tourney

The Shiner girls golf team scored a 373 to take first place in the St. Paul Tournament March 13-14 in Gonzales.Chelsea Whiddon carded an 89 and got first medalist; Grace Migl scored a 91 for second medalist. Megan Winkenwerder got third medalist with 95.

Shiner softball:Shiner earns 19 hits vs La Vernia

The Lady Comanches had a powerful time at the plate, getting 19 hits to win 16-5 at La Vernia on March 14. Addy Siegel got four hits, two home runs, three runs and four RBI; Rylee Vancura got three hits, one home run, three runs and five RBI.

Shiner baseball: Comanche 9 go 2-0 in spring break games

The Shiner baseball had a solid all-around game in an 18-0 victory over Bloomington midday on March 14. The win gave Shiner two wins out of two district games. Shiner played at Schulenburg on Thursday. “We came out with good focus today. Carson (Schuette) threw well.

Shiner girls basketball:Lenehan, Sevcik win special AD awards

The Shiner Lady Comanches had two sophomores receive special awards for the 2022-2023 28-2A All-District basketball. Morgan Lenehan was selected as Most Valuable Player and Callie Sevcik was named Defensive Player of the Year. Making the First Team is senior Haley Patek and junior Rylee Vancura.

The Shiner softball team had 20-plus run district games during spring break last week. Shiner 27, Bloomington 0 The Shiner Lady Comanches swung the bat and put the ball into play a lot against Bloomington. And they cashed plenty  of those into runs with a 27-0 win in a midday-home game on March 13.

SHiner girls golf: Lady Comanches runner up at Flatonia tourney

The Shiner Lady Comanches took second place with a score of 433 in the Flatonia Tournament on March 8.Grace Migl scored a 53 and 50 for 103; Chelsea Whiddon had a 58 and 54 for a 112; Megan Winkenwerder had a 51 and 55 for 106.

Shiner track and field:Shiner girls grab team Gold at Columbus meet

Shiner track teams were in action in Columbus on Thursday with the girls varsity bringing home the team gold, Varsity Girls The Lady Comanches won first place with 220 points.

Shiner baseball:Shiner nine win runner up at Appelt Tournament

The Shiner Comanches won three of four and placed second at the Hallettsville Jimmy Appelt Tournament last week. Shiner 13, Natalia 0 Kaiden Boothe held Natalia Mustang to three hits and struck out 13 batters as the Comanches sank Natalia 13-0 Thursday to open the tournament in Hallettsville.
