Shiner tennis:Shiner places sixth at team tennis state tournament

The Shiner Comanches tennis team placed sixth in the TTCA State Team Tennis Tournament March 10-11 in Waco. Shiner came in sixth place, defeating Northside Vernon 8-3, falling Sonora 7-1, beating Sanderson 7-0 and losing to Quanah 7-4.

Shiner softball:LC endure district loss to Ganado

Despite home runs from Paeden Vincik and Kailey Boedeker, the Shiner softball team fell short to Ganado on the road 10-5 on March 22. The game was scheduled for the previous day in Shiner but moved back one day because of weather-related field issues before the teams decided to play in Ganado.

St. Paul softball:Lady Cardinals come up short against SA Feast at home

Late-inning plays by both teams eventually led to an 8-7 win for the San Antonio Feast Lady Patriots against St. Paul. The Lady Patriots plated two runs in the top of the seventh and held off the Lady Cardinals in the bottom of the frame for the non-district win March 22 at the Shiner Starplex. St.

Shiner track and field: Shiner girls get 2nd at Tidehaven; boys runner up at Flatonia

 The Shiner boys track team got top two at the Flatonia meet in the varsity division on March 22 and the Shiner girls had two competitors with most of the Lady Comanches track team competing at Tidehaven on Thursday.

Shiner baseball: Shiner blanks Indians 6-0

Drew Wenske pitched a no-hit shutout perfect game with 12 strikeouts in Shiner’s rescheduled game against Ganado on Wednesday, winning 6-0. The game was set to be played March 21 in Shiner but moved to March 22 due to field conditions caused by weather and then switched sites to Ganado.

St. Paul baseball:Cards get win over Sacred Heart

St. Paul baseball team shut out San Marcos Academy and beat Sacred Heart in two road games last week. St. Paul 11, SM A 0 The Cardinals brought in seven runs in the top of the seventh to put the icing on the cake of an 11-0 win at San Marcos Academy on March 22. St.

St. Paul track and field: Lady Cards win Fayetteville meet

The St. Paul track teams competed at Fayetteville on Thursday with the girls winning the meet. St. Paul scored 144.5 points to inch past Sacred Heart who had 144 points. Girls 100 — 6th, Gracie Malinovsky, 14.57; 7th, Nora Koch, 14.69. 200 — 5th, Nora Koch, 31.68. 400 — 1st, Brooke Cerny, 1:01.

Shiner girls golf: PRs set as Lady Comanches win SP Tourney

The Shiner girls golf team scored a 373 to take first place in the St. Paul Tournament March 13-14 in Gonzales.Chelsea Whiddon carded an 89 and got first medalist; Grace Migl scored a 91 for second medalist. Megan Winkenwerder got third medalist with 95.
