St. Paul girls: Lady Cards beat Bracken, Sacred Heart to end regular season

The St. Paul girls basketball team was more patient and calm in their home game to Sacred Heart on Thursday.Kristin Cerny sank two triples and scored 12 points to lead St. Paul to a 36-15 win over Sacred Heart in the regular-season finale.

Shiner girls basketball: Lady Comanches split with Flatonia, LHS

Shiner got the offensive looks it wanted and did well on a game plan to stop Summer Sodek.Sodek still recorded 28 points and helped out her teammates as well as Flatonia defeated Shiner 63-31 on Jan. 27 to complete the sweep.Shiner struggled to make a lot of its shots.

VICTORIA — Of nine players that saw the court for the Lady Cardinals, eight scored and the whole available roster made contributions.McKinley Jacobs scored 12 points, Kristin Cerny netted 11 points and Riley Mozisek bagged 10 points in the St. Paul’s 65-17 win at Victoria Faith Academy Friday.

VICTORIA — Trailing 37-32 at halftime at Faith Academy, St. Paul adjusted the defensive plan.The adjustment worked and St. Paul outscored the Cougars 33-19 in the second half for a 65-56 win on Friday night.“We tightened up the defense.

Shiner boys basketball: Shiner boys hang on for 48-46 win over Flatonia

Trailing 48-46 and having an inbound on Shiner’s side after a timeout with 2.48 seconds left, Flatonia appeared to threaten.Until Landen Christensen managed to get a very crucial steal to run out the clock and preserve Shiner’s lead and the sweep over Flatonia for the season on Jan. 27 in Shiner.

The Shiner Comanches had several players selected for the Padilla Poll Coaches 2025 2ADII All-State Football Team.Making the First Team Offense were senior linemen Jacob Nerada, junior running back Quincy Jones, junior running back Clayton Fric and sophomore quarterback Jarvis Williams.
