Spoetzl Brewery donates to Community Connections

The Spoetzl Brewery Charitable Fund committee recently donated $2,500 to Community Connections of Lavaca Country to help offset fuel and maintenance costs of the vehicles used for public transportation and meal delivery to our local citizens.

St. Paul Softball: Lady Cardinals All-State, All District Awards

The TAPPS Division IV state softball champions Shiner St. Paul had several players receive All-State, All-District and Academic All-State Awards. All-State Winning First-Team All State is seniors Sydney Green and Rayleigh Biehunko, and junior Julia Machacek.

Little League Update: Minor, Major, Junior softball, baseball East Zone International tournaments

Shiner Little League softball and baseball all-star teams started competition in East Zone International Tournaments this past weekend. 8-10 Year-Old-Softball (Yoakum) Shiner opened with a 15-0 win over Cuero Friday night.

Shiner Catholic School freshman Audrey Thibodeaux of Shiner became the new Texas Junior High Rodeo Finals and State Pole Bending Champion at the state finals held last month at Gonzales’ J.B. Wells Park, Arena and Expo Center.

Little League action: Shiner 8U softball

The Shiner Little League 8U softball team played Luling in a game in the East Zone Tournament June 6 in Lockhart. Shiner opened the tournament with a 15-14 win over Yoakum June 3 and fell to Hallettsville 4-0 on June 5.

Shiner Softball: Ramirez, Vincik win All District superlatives

A pair of Shiner Lady Comanche softball players received special awards in the 29-2A All-District Team. Freshman infielder Brinley Ramirez was named Newcomer of the Year; sophomore pitcher/catcher/infielder Paeden Vincik was selected as Utility Player of the Year.
