Local cross country: Lady Cards varsity get first at Shiner meet

Shiner cross country hosted the second Shiner meet at Green-Dickson Park with the field including Shiner Catholic School.The St. Paul girls varsity highlighted city of Shiner school performances by getting first in the girls varsity 1A-2A division.

Shiner volleyball: Fayetteville rallies to edge LC 3-2

With a 2-1 lead after three matches Friday against Fayetteville, the Lady Comanches were unable to finish things.The Lady Lions rallied to win two straight for a 13-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-2 and 15-9.

St. Paul volleyball: Lady Cardinals soar over Bracken Christian in three games

The St. Paul volleyball team went 2-for-2 in district play with a dominating performance against Bulverde Bracken Christian 3-0.St. Paul played lights out in a one-sided game two, winning 25-7 and also taking care of business in sets one and three, 25-15 and 25-14 respectively.

Shiner football: Shiner ends non district with stifling 56-7 win over LHS

Shiner bid farewell to the non-district schedule with a slight bang.Running back Quincy Jones rushed for 115 yards and three touchdowns while Carson Schuette rushed for 99 yards and two scores as Shiner put the clamps down on the Luling Eagles 56-7 Friday at Comanche Stadium.

Shiner volleyball: Shiner JH spikers play at Schulenburg Tournament

The Shiner Junior High volleyball teams competed in the Schulenburg Tournament on Sept. 14.7th GradeThe Lady Braves earned third place defeating Bellville (25-22, 25-23), losing to Weimar (21-25, 25-21, 7-15) and then defeating Brazos (25-15, 25-8) in the final match.

Shiner, St. Paul cross country: Cerny, Mozisek place top 10 for Lady Cardinals

Both Shiner cross-country programs were in action in Gonzales on Saturday.St. PaulVarsity GirlsThe Lady Cardinals came in sixth with 136 points.Kristin Cerny led St. Paul with sixth place in  13 minutes, 35.85 seconds and behind her was Skylar Mozisek in 13:39.13. Frances Filip was No. 38 in 15:32.
