St. Paul cross country: Lady Cardinals win first at SH meet

The St. Paul cross-country team ran at the Sacred Heart meet on Saturday. The girls won the Gold in their division. The team will run in the Victoria Citizens Race for the Cure 5K on Saturday.The state meet will be Oct. 28 at Cottonweed Golf Course in Waco. The girls will run at 1:40 p.m.

Shiner cross country: Burns, Shiner boys advance to regionals

Shiner hosted the 28-2A District Cross Country meet Monday at Green Dickson Park.Varsity GirlsMegan Burns came in fifth and will run at the regional meet as an individual. She had a time of 14 minutes, 5.06 seconds.Jo Caka placed No. 24 in 16:29.46 and Jewel Caka was No. 26 in 17:29.

Shiner volleyball: Shiner battles hard in loss to Weimar

Teamwork, cohesion and intensity were there; the results were not as the Shiner volleyball team came up short. The Lady Comanches lost to Weimar 3-0 (26-24, 25-14, 25-20) in Shiner’s first district home game Oct. 1.
