St. Paul got no hits but was able to score two seventh-inning runs to rally to beat Conroe Covenant Thursday in Bryan in the regional round to advance to the state tournament for the third straight season.

Shiner softball: Shiner softball sweeps Freer in area playoffs

KENEDY— The Shiner Lady Comanches sped past Freer 13-3 and 15-0 in the area-round series in Kenedy May 1 and 2.Shiner was set to start its regional-quarterfinals best-of-three against Charlotte yesterday in Karnes City. The series will continue tomorrow and Saturday if needed.

St. Paul track and field: Lady Cardinals track team wins 2024 state championship

HEWITT — The St. Paul girls track team concluded the 2024 season with a state championship. They scored 117.5 points to get past runner up First Baptist Academy who had 86 this past weekend at the TAPPS state meet at Panther Stadium in Hewitt.

St. Paul baseball: Cardinals blank Bryan SJ, Second Baptist in playoff wins

It was a slight famine at the plate for St. Paul in their bi-district game against Bryan St. Joseph April 23 at home.Both BSJ and St. Paul got just three hits a piece but it was St. Paul who got a couple of runs in and then prevented the Eagles from scoring once in a 2-0 win.

Shiner baseball: Shiner 2004 baseball 1A state championship team recognized

The 2004 Shiner Comanches Class 1A baseball state championship team were recognized prior to Friday’s home game with Flatonia. The team had an overall record of 23-9 and went 9-1 in 29-1A to claim the district championship. The Comanches posted an 8-1 record in the playoffs.

St. Paul softball: St. Paul blanks Concordia 17-0

The St. Paul softball team took care of business to clear the first playoff hurdle.St. Paul got 10 hits, seven of those extra base hits, and freshman pitcher Tatum Walker pitched a three-inning, no-hit shutout as St. Paul rolled Pflugerville Concordia Lutheran 17-0 Thursday at the Star Plex.

The St. Paul Lady Cardinals are the TAPPS 2A South regional champions after outscoring Bryan St. Joseph 179-134.The Cardinals finished runner up with 105 points with Waco Providence Classical scoring 154 points.

MARION — Things went pretty close to perfect for Shiner softball team in their bi-district series against Stockdale.Shiner outhit the Lady Brahmas 21-5 and outscored them 36-0 in winning in a sweep, 16-0, 20-0 in Marion Friday evening.“I felt we hit amazingly; our fielding was amazing.
