Sweet Home ISD donates to Sweety Home firemen

The Sweet Home School surprised local firefighters with a $2,000 donation to the Sweet Home Volunteer Fire Department. Students raised the funds by participating in a penny war fundraiser back in the fall.
Friends and family members of Sweet Home’s Ben “Bird” Kopecky gathered recently at Sweet Home VFD Fire House to present the department with the dollars their benefit, “Bird’s Booze Wagon,” helped raise for local firemen this year. The amount came to $6,465.

Bird’s Booze Wagon raises $6,465 for Sweet Home VFD

What started as a way for one man’s family to offset medical costs as he fought the good fight against lung cancer has since become a way for the family to give back to the community that loved and supported them in their time of need.
