A-1 Shiner Fire and Safety, Inc. recognizes 100th Anniversary of Fire Prevention Week

This October marks the 100th anniversary of Fire Prevention Week, the Nation’s longest running public health observance on record. Fire prevention week is Sunday, October 9 - Saturday, October 15. This year’s Campaign Slogan is FIRE WON’T WAIT. PLAN YOUR ESCAPE.
In observance of the 100th anniversary for Fire Prevention Week, A-1 Shiner Fire and Safety, Inc. has donated 100 smoke detectors to the City of Shiner. It is our hope that all families in Shiner will equip their homes with smoke detectors to help aid in protecting their families. We urge each family to develop a home escape plan with all members of the household and practice the escape plan at least two times a year.
Research shows that you have two minutes to get out of a house fire from the time the smoke alarm sounds. Research also shows today’s homes burn faster and hotter than they used to, minimizing the time to escape.
If you are in need of a smoke detector, please pick one up from the city office in Shiner. A-1 Shiner Fire and Safety, Inc. is here to help with all of your fire and safety needs. If you have any questions or concerns, please call (361) 594-2929 or visit the store at 109 Boehm Dr.
