On Point Barbecue brings home another big win
Shiner’s Justin and Karen Fortune, pictured above with their Reserve Championship Award, brought home several top awards for their competition barbecue cookoff team, On Point Barbecue, after they traveled to Victoria’s inaugural Sombrero Festival held last weekend at that town.
“We were able to dodge most of the storms,” said head cook Justin Fortune.
After the smoke cleared, they took home the following wins: First Place Beans, Second Place Brisket, Third Place Pork, Fourth Place Ribs and Eighth Place Chicken.
Fortune congratulated Rob Ochoa for his grand championship win at first ever event Sombrero Festival, as well as all who all who competed last weekend.
“Thanks especially to Rhonda and Steven Pfeiffer for a well-run CBA event, and thanks to the Sombrero Fest organizers for all your hard work and generosity” he said.
