YHM is Reminiscing in Shades of Purple
The Yoakum Heritage Museum (YHM) has toured more than 1,100 children this 2023 season.
Each tour has a script, but as each child and teacher react to what they view, the set script varies a great degree depending on the curiosity of the class.
The museum presented teachers with jingle bell necklaces for all of their students. The gift signifies a great appreciation to all that created a tree in the forest as well as many that have hand-made artistic ornaments.
The Catholic Daughters of the Americas Christmas Tree was inspired and crafted by Sue Munsch and Carroll Sharp. If one looks closely, there is a very angelic cherub at the treetop helping with decorations.
There is also a multitude of Rosaries handcrafted especially for the tree with love and prayer by the Court of Our Lady of Guadalupe #206.
Dr. Sandra Bergey and her assisting team created a compact tree of four colorways.
If you fell in love with one colorway, the other colorways are even more exciting and exquisite.
The purple lighting is outstanding especially when trimmed and alternating with very fluffy white tree branches.
Museum guests should linger to view all of the color combinations.
Do not miss viewing the forest this year. It is worth stopping by! The last day of viewing is Friday, Jan. 5, 2024.
Regular museum hours are 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday. The museum is located at 312 Simpson St. in Yoakum.
The museum is closed New Years Eve.
