Local law agencies conduct arrests Seize drugs, firearms

    During the predawn hours on Friday morning, March 21, local law enforcement agencies, executed multiple search and arrest warrants at two different locations in Lavaca County.

    Included in the operation were the Lavaca County Sheriff ’s Office, the Police Department, the Lavaca/Colorado County EMS and the Lavaca County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, along with the Yoakum, Cuero and Shiner Police Departments, the Austin County Sheriff’s Office as well as the West Side HIDTA Regional Specialist Response Team Hallettsville.

    According to Facebook posts from the LCSO and LCOEM, one of the search warrants led to an arrest in the Yoakum City limits, while the other had agencies travel to a location north of the Hallettsville city limits.

    The operation resulted in one arrest in Yoakum and two arrests at the Hallettsville location.

    In addition to the arrests, multiple types of narcotics and firearms were confiscated.

    A statement in the Facebook post said, “We are appreciative and thankful for the great relationship we have with each of these agencies and are working hard together to take drugs and drug dealers off our streets.”
