    The 69th annual Luling Watermelon Thump runs Thursday through Sunday, June 23-26. They start off with with the Big Melon contest, followed by the naming of the 2022 Thump Queen and live performance by Nathan Colt Young, all on Thursday. Friday is the kids' Watermelon Seed Spittin' Contest and Tejano Night. Saturday starts off with the parade, more musical acts than you you can shake a stick at, including our own Shiner Hobo Band, and Wade Bowen to cap things off, plus plenty of other cool stuff throughout the day. And Sunday's their always impressive car show, more seed spittin' and a veteran's appreciation ceremony that's truly something to see. Just a few copies of their paper are left at the Hallettsville news office, but be sure and grab one before you go for complete show information, ticket prices and more.
