Rains a welcome sight in county

    Call it an inch and five 10ths of blessings that fell on a few in Lavaca County this week, as late June storm clouds remain in the forecast for at least another day or two. Here's hoping everyone sees their share of the wet stuff...

    This week's rains were a welcome sight for many in Lavaca County, who hadn't seen a measureable rain of any substance for much of 2022.

    Much of what fell, unfortunately, came sudden and hard with extremely high winds and fierce lightning. If at all, in some places. Still, no one was being too choosy about how it fell, just that it did.

    With rain in the forecast still for at least a day or two yet, here's hoping and praying that everyone in the county catches the benefit of these showers.

    Lord knows we can all use it...
