St. Mary’s annual picnic set for Sunday, June 8

The annual St. Mary's Catholic Church Picnic will take place on Sunday, June 8.

The regular Mass offered at 9:30 a.m. will kick things off for the day and the picnic’s traditional meal will begin serving at 10:30 a.m.

The meal consists of stew, sausage, German potatoes, green beans, sauerkraut, pickles, bread and dessert. The cost per plate is $14 each and is available through dining in or plates-to-go.

The Texas Sound Check, Red Ravens will provide music throughout the day starting at 11 a.m. and Dawson Debord and Southpaw will take the stage at 6 p.m.

The Big Auction will start a 1 p.m. with livestock, quilts, trees, plants, art antiques, home decor and many more items for sale.

A Country Store will be also be open throughout the picnic with baked goods, ice cream, nachos and many more foods including ice cold drinks and plants available.

The St. Mary’s famous picnic burgers will also be served throughout the day and evening.

Inside the air-conditioned hall, a bingo will be held from 2 to 6 p.m., while on the outside kid games including a fish pond, ball throw, ring toss and more activities offered for enjoyment.

The picnic grounds is located at 1648 FM 340, Hallettsville.

Coordinators of the event said the public invited to come out and enjoy a day and evening that is fun for the whole family.
