St. Mary’s Picnic Sunday

The annual St. Mary's Catholic Church picnic will take place Sunday with a Mass offered at 9:30 a.m. to start off the day.

Following the Mass, the traditional picnic meal that includes stew, sausage, German potatoes, green beans, sauerkraut, pickles, bread and dessert will be served starting at 10:30 a.m.

The cost per plate is $14 and is available through dining in or plates-to-go.

At 11 a.m., musical entertainment will begin with the Texas Sound Check, Red Ravens providing the music throughout the day.

Dawson Debord and Southpaw will perform starting at 6 p.m.

The Big Auction begins at 1 p.m. with livestock, quilts, trees, plants, art antiques, home decor and many more items for sale.

A Country Store will be also be open throughout the picnic with baked goods, ice cream, nachos and many more foods including ice cold drinks and plants available.

The St. Mary’s famous picnic burgers will be served throughout the day and evening.

Inside the air-conditioned hall, a bingo will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. and on the outside kid games including a fish pond, ball throw, ring toss and more activities offered for enjoyment.

The picnic grounds is located at 1648 FM 340, Hallettsville.

The public is invited to come out and enjoy a day and evening that is fun for the whole family.
