Indianettes clinch District championship

SHINER – Three pitchers combined for a twohitter and Avery Beach and Ella Demel both hit home runs in a 14-0 five-inning victory over St. Paul to clinch the TAPPS District 5 Division IV championship at the StarPlex Thursday evening.

For Beach, it was her 7th home run and Demel has six.

The Indianettes (16-6, 6-0) accumulated 15 hits with six going for extra bases.

SH scored a run in the first inning on an error.

The big inning was the third when the Indianettes sent 12 batters to the plate.

Kenzie Chance led off with a single, stole second and scored on a double by Rylan Dworsky. Dworsky came across on a double by Beach before Demel hit a 0-1 pitch over the center field fence for a two-run homer. Phoenix Richter and Ainsley Grahmann both hit run-scoring singles. Beach hit a two-run homer that scored Chance.

Karley Kostelnik led off the fourth inning with a double before scoring on a passed ball.

The final run came in the fifth inning when Kostelnik walked and scored on an error.
