Shiner girls basketball: Shiner JV girls edge SP 24-21
The Shiner Lady Comanches junior varsity basketball team withstood an 8-6 St. Paul second-half run to hang on to a 24-21 win on Friday.
Shiner led 12-9 at the end of the first quarter and scored six of 10 points in the second period for an 18-13 halftime lead.
St. Paul scored four of seven points in each of the third and fourth periods.
Emersyn Boehm was the Lady Comanches’ top scorer with nine points.
For the Lady Comanches, MaKenna Pish had one assist, one steal; Megan Burns added three steals, two assists, two rebounds; Arabella Carlisle had one rebound; Boehm also had six rebounds, six steals; Olivia Akin had one steal; Lexi Boner recorded six rebounds, six steals and two assists.
Evy Johnson had three rebounds, one assist; Raleigh Moore tallied one rebound; Harper Lenehan had five steals, three assists, two rebounds.
