St. Paul softball: SP bests BC, Victoria Faith

    St. Paul picked up two wins last week beating Brazos Christian 18-1 on the road March 28 and opening district with a 19-0 home win against Victoria Faith Thursday.

    Leading Brazos Christian 8-0 after three innings, St. Paul scored 10 runs in the summit of the fifth and yielded a run in the bottom of the inning to smack Brazos Christian 18-1.
    The Lady Cardinals sent six runs home in the second and scored twice in the third box.
    Leaders at the plate was Hailey Radicke who got three hits, two doubles and triple with four RBI, Jessica Fikac got a trio of hits and scored three runs, and Stefany Pokluda was 2-for-3 with two runs, home run and two RBI.
    Presley Tuch got two hits, scored three runs and four RBI; Julia Machacek got two hits, three runs, triple and two RBI.
    Radicke had a gem of a game with three hits, one run, and eight strikeouts.
    Pokluda, Machacek, Tuch and Tori Walker each had one putout.

    The Lady Cards had just three hits but took advantage of seven batters hit and 11 walks to score a total of 19 runs.
    St. Paul led 7-0 after one inning and scored a dozen in the second frame.
    Machacek pitched three innings with one hit, one batter hit and six strikeouts; Dallyn Pesek made three putouts in the field.
    Emily Moeller, Tuch and Fikac each had one hit. Fikac scored three runs.
