St. Paul softball:Lady Cardinals win three at Palacios tourney

The St. Paul softball team went 3-1 at the Palacios Tournament last week to start the season.
Boling 10, St. Pau 1
The Lady Cardinals had a rough go at the plate in their tournament opener against Boling, scoring just one run on two hits as Boling won 10-1.
The Lady Bulldogs led 4-0 after one inning, scored twice in the second inning, three runs in the third and each team plated one run in the fourth.
Hailey Radicke and Tori Walker got the hits for St. Paul with Radicke scoring the run. Julia Machacek  pitched 1 2/3 innings with five runs on two hits, seven walks and three strikeouts; Radicke chucked for 2 1/3 innings with five runs on six hits, two walks and three strikeouts. Inn the field, Machacek had three putouts.

St. Paul got three hits against Port Aransas but scored plenty of runs in a 13-4 win. The Lady Cards led 1-0 after one inning, outscored PA 5-0 in the second frame and each team brought in one run in the third inning. PA got within 7-4 in the top of the fourth and St. Paul pulled away with half-a-dozen runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Presley Tuch got two hits and scored three runs; Radicke pitched five innings with four hits, 1 run and two strikeouts; Machacek pitched some, facing four batters.
Machacek got eight putouts in the field.

The Lady Cardinals scored 11 runs during their first turn to bat and routed Yorktown 17-1.  St. Paul went up 13-0 after two inning and plated four runs in the bottom of the third.
Ashlyn Pesek got two hits with a triple, two RBI and two runs; Brooke Cerny got a home run, scored twice and had four RBI. Kristen Cerny scored four runs and Presley Tech had three runs.
Radicke and Machacek combined to hold Yorktown to one run on three hits and struck out three batters.
In the field, Machacek had three putouts.

St. Paul finished off their tournament games with a 10-1 win over Palacios. The Lady Cards led 2-0 after one inning and scored six runs in the bottom of the third. The Sharkettes plated one run in the top of the fourth and St. Paul scored two in the bottom of the inning.
Radicke led at the plate with three hits  three runs, two RBI and a double. Machacek pitched four frames with one run on two hits, five walks and three strikeouts; Radicke worked one inning with a strikeout.
In the field, Brooke Cerny and Radicle each had three putouts.
