Yoakum cross-country:Cross-country varsity get top six finishes in Shiner

The Yoakum cross-country teams competed in the Shiner meet on Saturday with both varsities finishing in top sixth in the 3A-4A divisions.
Varsity Girls
The Lady Bulldogs registered 126 points to place sixth in the 3A-4A varsity girls race.
Gracei Martinez led Yoakum with No. 14 in a time of 13 minutes, 10.44 seconds. Angela Flores was No. 17 in 13:16.59; Sam Adamek was No. 25 in 13:37.95. Emmie Leftwhich was No. 60 in 14:51.29 and following was Emily Sanchez (14:52.24), Abbie Galvan (15:00.78) and Aubree Hussey (15:09.84). Dulce Lara was No. 76 in 15:37.15.
Varsity Boys
The Bulldogs were fifth in the 3A-4A race with 155 points.
Aiden Alvarez was No. 11 in 18:32.92; Clayton Hlavac was No. 31 in 19:57.17; Martin Perez was No. 36 in 20:15.33; T. Moreno was No. 40 in 20:24.49; I. Pilat was No. 67 with a time of 21:45.96.
JV Boys
Nathan Vo was No. 57 in 14:58.25; Brayden Neubauer was No. 59 in 15:05.95.
JH Girls
Josephine Pilat was eighth with 14:00; Kaitlyn Lopez was No. 99 in 18:20.

Yoakum was sixth with 164 points.
