Yoakum football:Yoakum hosts Cuero in 113th game of series

Yoakum plays it first home game of the season and it will be a marquee matchup as it is against Cuero, Yoakum’s DeWitt County rivals. The game will be the 113th in the longstanding rivalry.
Yoakum is seeking its first win after a close loss at Industrial, 25-20, in the first game and a tough 62-28 loss at Cameron Yoe last week.
The Gobblers have come up with two big wins to open the season, winning at El Campo 43-13 and at home against Navarro 46-13.
Cuero has a balanced offense and the ground game is led by Tyscen Williams who has 199 yards and a touchdown in two games; Mason Notaro has 173 yards and two touchdowns.
Notaro has completed 15-of-25 passes for 314 yards, seven touchdowns and one interceptions.
Top receiver is Dayton Varela.
 Varela who has 102 yards and three touchdowns.
On the defense, Brandt. Patek had 39 tackles and Sean Burk had 37 tackles.
