Yoakum volleyball: Yoakum spikers win Shiner Tournament

    The Yoakum Lady Bulldogs improved to 7-0 after winning the Shiner Tournament last weekend. The Lady Bulldogs won all five matches they played and lost just one set the whole tournament.
    Jayana Phillips and Destiny Rios earned a place on the All-Tournament Team.
    In pool play, the Lady ‘Dogs beat Hallettsville Sacred 25-16, 25-21; beat Flatonia in two sets, 25-10 and 25-14, and wrapped up pool play by beating Industrial JV 25-9. 25-4.
    Yoakum beat Stockdale 26-24, 19-25, 25-22 in the semifinals of the Gold Bracket and took on hosts Shiner in the Gold Championship game, winning in two close sets, 27-25, 25-23.
