Early voting in entity elections begins Monday, April 22

In person early voting begins Monday, April 22 in the Hallettsville ISD and Hallettsville City elections.Voters wishing to cast their ballot early can vote at the Lavaca County Annex Building located at 412 N. Texana St. in Hallettsville.

HISD Board discusses/approves various agenda items

A mixed bag of approving agenda items and discussions of items topped the HISD Board of Trustees meeting Monday night. The trustees okayed a bond election for Saturday, May 4. No particulars of the bond were not announced. Rain has delayed completion of the parking lot east of the high school.

HISD seeks bids on Phase 2 parking lot, SAFE project

Phase 2 of the Hallettsville ISD parking project will begin once bids are in. The board of trustees authorized BEFCO Engineering to advertise for bids at its regular monthly meeting Monday night. “Rain has slowed the progress of Phase 1,” Superintendent Dr. Jo Ann Bludau said.

Hallettsville ISD journalism class attends industry convention in Boston

The Hallettsville ISD journalism program embarked on a trip to Boston, Massachusetts on Nov. 1 for the Journalism Education Association convention. “It was great! We went through three days of workshops and the girls competed in a national contest,” Journalism teacher Christi Opiela said.
