Shiner Catholic School celebrates May Crowning

Shiner Catholic School students bring flowers to the front of church last week during their weekly student mass to honor Mary, in a simple ceremony known as the May Crowning.

Biehunko, SP blast Brazos Christian 15-0

It was a sizzling day for senior Rayleigh Biehunko at the plate April 19 against Bryan Brazos Christian.  She went 3-for-4, two triples, a grand slam, two runs and eight RBI in the Lady Cards’ 15-0 win.

Cards beat Indians 10-0

The St. Paul baseball team completed the series sweep against rival Hallettsville Sacred Heart with plenty of offense and defense. The Cardinals blanked the Sacred Heart 10-0 in five frames April 19 at the Shiner Starplex.

Lady Cards sweep DH with BSJ

The St. Paul Cardinals continue to be on the rise as the regular season winds down and showed this in sweeping a double header at home against Bryan St. Joseph 16-1 and 16-0 on Friday..  “The last couple of weeks we have been playing pretty good softball.

Shiner adds 2022 area titles to trophy case

The Shiner Lady Comanches and Comanches track teams won the District 27-28 area championship April 18 in Flatonia. Girls The Lady Comanches won big with 205 points. 100 — 5th, Jaleah Curtis, 12.82. 200 — 3rd, Rylee Vancura, 27.03; 4th, Lauren Faldyn, 27.28. 400 — 4th, Erin Pustka, 1:05.

Lady Cardinals beat out SH for district title

The Lady Cardinals track team won the TAPPS 4-2A district title at Bryan Allen Academy on April 20. The Cardinals got runner up. Top four in each event advanced to the regional meet this week. Girls St. Paul finished above rival Sacred Heart 183-163.5. 100 — 7th, Stefany Pokluda, 14.

HANS LAMMEMAN, STAFF WRITER HANSPLAMM@GMAIL.COM   More than 700 hundred cyclists flooded the streets of Shiner, Moulton and Fayette County to enjoy a hill-studded route, live music and locally brewed beer on Saturday, April 2.
